Job Description - Human Resources Generalist

Responsible for all payroll functions, benefits administration, workers compensation tracking, unemployment insurance claims, time off tracking, and communication to all employees regarding these programs.

You will be responsible for the following:

  • Process all new hire paperwork, data entry into the online payroll system, process background checks, issue name tags and employee parking passes.

  • Handle employee concerns regarding payroll.

  • Reconcile payroll accounts.

  • Work with auditors at year-end to ensure HR compliance with auditing procedures.

  • Communicate proactively with employees about all benefits programs.

  • Handle garnishment letters and process payroll deductions as required by law.

  • Ensure timely completion of injury report forms following employee accidents and maintain updated injury records.

  • Ensure timely distribution of enrollment paperwork and benefit summaries during eligibility and open enrollment periods.

  • Manage benefits enrollment and termination processes, inputting necessary deductions into the payroll system.

  • Reconcile monthly billings and invoice payments with the Accounting Department.

  • Ensure HR invoices for benefits are accurate and paid promptly.

  • Track employee time off according to company policies in both personnel files and the online payroll system.

  • Stay informed on benefit legislation and ensure appropriate paperwork is used during open enrollment periods.

  • Respond to wage and employment verification requests.

  • Work with the unemployment carrier on claims and provide the necessary paperwork.

  • Collaborate with the international visa company to process visa paperwork and manage employee entry and exit.

  • Manage employee housing issues, including rents, security deposits, maintenance, housing inspections, and furnishings.

  • Process housing rent payments through payroll deductions.

  • Assist the HR Manager with employee relations issues and serve as a witness during investigation interviews.

  • Handle employee relations issues and investigation interviews in the absence of the HR Manager, with assistance from the General Manager or other department management.

  • Advise the HR Manager of any issues or potential problems.

  • Continuously evaluate and recommend improvements to HR processes and procedures.

  • Make independent decisions and resolve issues without assistance.

  • Read, analyze, and interpret business reports, financial reports, and legal document.

  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Fluency in English speaking and writing is required.

Qualifications

Here's what we will need from you:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • Prior supervisory or management experience is preferred but not required.

  • Knowledge of state and federal payroll regulations, workers compensation, benefit and insurance laws, and employment laws.

  • Minimum 1-2 years of related experience/training in Human Resources, focusing on payroll and benefits administration.

  • College degree preferred.

Additional information 

  • Must effectively communicate and collaborate with employees, vendors, and suppliers at all levels. Fluent in English (verbal and written).

  • Job Type: Full-time

  • Offered Compensation: will be based on location and individual qualification.

  • Pay from $25.50 per hour

  • Expected hours: 40 per week
